Eczema or Atopic Dermatitis refers to a chronic itchy skin condition that affects about 30 million people at some time in their lives. The onset of eczema occurs mostly in childhood and tends to decrease with time. Research has shown that it is genetically inherited from parents or family members who have allergic dispositions such as hay fever, asthma or food allergies.

Generally the skin is inflamed, dry and itchy. Certain foods such as cow's milk, harsh detergents, woolens, changes in temperature and stress can aggravate an already oversensitive skin.

-Lappa major: Indicated in most eczema especially on the scalp and face.

-Petroleum: All eruptions itch violently and one must scratch until bleeding occurs; part becomes cold after scratching. Skin is hard, rough, thickened with deep cracks; dry like parchment; it gets raw, festers or won't heal; worse in folds, nipples, finger tips.

-Solidago: Blotches especially on lower limbs. Burdock is said to be a blood purifier. It neutralizes and eliminates poisons in the system.

-Viola Tricolor: Seborrheic eczema, eczema of the scalp. Hair falls out, there is increased itching and burning, which worsens at night.

-Graphites: The skin is harsh, dry, thickened, rough, fissured, and disposed to chafing. Skin inclined to crack. Fissures are deep, bleeding or oozing out a sticky fluid. Raw, moist places between the fingers and on the face. Every injury suppurates. Cracks or fissures on fingers, hands, toes, lips, behind the ears. Eczema on the genitals, face, scalp, behind the ears, hands, fingers, toes, calves of the legs, bends of the knees, flexures of the body. Skin thick as leather, dry, rough, harsh, cracks open when flexing the part; aggravated in snowy weather or wet weather. Graphites eruptions usually disappear during the summer or hot weather, and appear at the first sign of cold weather generally in the fall and/or upon snowfall.
